JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Part-time Baker/Pastry Chef
Reports to: Tavis Weber
Date: July 1, 2018

Post Closing: July 10, 2018


JOB PURPOSE

Part-time Baker/Pastry Chef is responsible for on-site production of high quality artisanal baked goods for wholesale and retail sale. Some customer service may be required.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Prepare from scratch: croissants, scones, muffins, sourdough breads, creams, curds.

  • Assist in creating weakly cruffin flavours.
  • Assemble cruffins Saturday mornings.

  • Follow policies, procedures and guidelines for food handling and preparation

  • Meet and exceed health and safety regulations/expectations

  • Uphold the standards Golden Hearth Bakery has set for service and quality

  • Assemble wholesale orders

  • Maintain a clean workspace and assist in cleaning the facility

  • Assist periodically with special projects as required



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional baking experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

  • Specific knowledge of baking techniques for pastries, muffins, scones, sourdough breads an asset

  • Attention to detail is a must

  • Ability to work independently with excellent problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow direction

  • Passion for local food



WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Hours for this position will between 15-30 hours a week must be available Saturdays.


  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high temperature environment

  • Ability to stand (be on feet) for long periods of time
